What is a Fussbucket?
Well, for all of you parents out there with young children or those who have already raised their children, you know exactly what Fussbucket means. Joe and Jocelyn just so happen to have two of them and love every moment they spend with them. This website is about their attempts at parenting and the joys, pains (tripping over toys) and trials that come along with it.
Fussbuckets is not just about parenting. However boring they may think their lives to be, Joe and Jocelyn do have some interests and plan to explore them here. One likes to (attempt to) cook. The other loves to dream. Both love to travel.
They’ll share their experiences, their thoughts, their dreams and their advice for whatever it is worth. Living as a multicultural (bi-racial just doesn’t fit) family in the South sure is an adventure and they hope you join them for the ride.
The Authors
Joe: The Dreamer
Joe holds a BA and MA in Political Science from the University of Florida has worked in politics and government throughout the State of Florida. He enjoys politics (though you won’t finding espousing his views on this website). He is a big sports fan and likes to believe he is somewhat of a history buff. Most of all he loves his family and cherishes the time he gets to spend with them.
Jocelyn: The Brain
Jocelyn obtained a BS in Zoology from the University of Florida and plans (hopes) to start medical school in the near future. She likes to read (A LOT), play the piano and cook. She is a true ABC: American Born Chinese; but loves to speak Japanese and is slightly obsessed with their culture. Just slightly. You can generally find her whipping up something tasty in the kitchen, chasing after the little ones or hiding in a corner with her nose buried deep in a book.
Joe and Jocelyn, along with their children, live in Gainesville, FL; the home of the mighty Gators. Though they both graduated from the University of Florida, that is not where their paths began to truly intertwine. Their journey began on the first day, in the first class of…HIGH SCHOOL. After thirteen years, three college degrees, and two children, their lives together are just beginning.
